True blue love.
We met Arpi & Sid through their friends who wanted to gift them this pre-wedding shoot. Gifting a pre-wedding shoot, now that's something we'd heard for the first time! Obviously when this is a gift, the expectations sky rocket (as if they weren't high already based on our past portfolio!). So, we took up the challenge and started planning for it. Arpi is an orthodontist and Sid is a founder of a very successful startup, and Sept-Oct happens to the time of international travel for the team, so finding a date where all three of our paths matched was the toughest bit. Finally it came down to a span of 24 hours over a weekend after I'd pitched the idea of Jodhpur to them. The old city of Jodhpur has always been a dream location for a portrait shoot for me, and I was really keen on working with a couple who'd be game to shoot in the not-so-clean environs. With the dates and location finalized, it was down to the styling. We contacted our favorite stylist/designer
to cook up some looks which would contrast the centuries old by-lanes and blue houses. Over many a whatsapp conversation and powerpoint presentations, this is what we ended up with. :D
We were gunning for a very editorial style set against the contrast of the rundown and yet colourful streets. Hope you like it.
PS: I stayed in Jodhpur for a good 72hrs before the shoot to find these locations and to familiarize myself with the locals there. Over these 3 days, I ended up meeting some super cool hotel owners and families in the bylanes who helped us out with the shoot. :)
